Laguardia Will Speak at Dinner Honoring Green

Mayor Florello H. LaGuardia has accepted an invitatoin to be principal speaker at the testimonial dinner to be given in honor of William Green, president to the American Federation of Labor, on February 14 at the Hotel Roosevelt. James W. Gerard, former United States Ambassador to Germany, is chairman of the non-sectarian committee which is sponsoring the dinner.

The dinner, under the auspices of the Non-Sectarlan Anti-Nazi League to Champion Human Rights, is a tribute in recognition of Mr. Green’s championship of the basic reght s of people as demonstrated by his action in mobilizing the Amercan labor movement in support of boycott of German goods, ships and services.

OLDEST SYNAGOGUE

Professor Carl H. Kraeling, of Yale University will deliver a lecture on “The Oldest Synagogue in the World” at the Juillard School of Music, 130 Claremont Avenue, this evening, under the auspices of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. The synagogue which Dr. Kracling will describe was discovered by Yale University excavators in Dura, Mesopotamia.
