Frosbite Victims Few Despite Cold Weather

Frostbite and chilbains came into prominence this winter for the first time in years, taking its toll of “nipped.” ears and feet and driving many New Yorkers into the city hospitals for treatment. Few serious cases were reported however, despite the record breaking spells of cold and frost.

At the jewish Hospital, Brooklyn, a a serious case of frostbite necessitated treatment for a patient in the hospital for five weeks. The patient. who also suffered from frostbite four years ago, was brought in with a case of arrangrene in both feet due to ##ostbite casued by many hours of exposure following a New Year’s celepbration.
