This is vacation time in the Argentine, which means that Jewish organization life is at very much of a standstill here.

This would not neccessarily be deplorable, were it not for the fact that Germany recognizes no vacation and feverishly continues the dissemination of anti-Jewish propagnda. The Argentine has not been spared any of these leaflets and pamphlets, all of which emphasize the advisability of keeping this country free of the “pest” of Jewish mmigration and of fighting Jewish “revolutionaries.”

One of the most recent propaganda specimens distributed here is headlined: “Alarm ! The Red Revolution Approaches !” The leafiet sa#s that a French “International Revue of Secret Societies” issued a call to a secret Jewish League in St. Petersburg, urging the children of Israel to take control of Russai.

CENTRAL POINT

The Germans seens to be manufacturing these “Jewish proclamations” by the thousands and have chosen the Argentine as a sort of central point for spreading Nazi propaganda over South America. Nor is the propaganda work confined to such seare-material. most of which is imposed upon the mass of South Americans, the great majority of whom have little actual knowledge of Jew. A more serious and more subtle agitation is being carried on among the intellectuals.

This strata of the population has recently been presented with numerous copies of a book printed in Spanish at the Eckart Verlag in Berlin-Leipzig. The book is entetled “The Armed Uprising: Revelations about the Communist Plan for Revolt before the National (German) Revolution.” Dr. Adolph Ehrt, author of the book, which is an excellent example of the publisher’s art, atempts to prove the old Nazi thesis to the effect that Hitler saved the world from the Communits flood. As usaul in Nazi “literature,” many a non-Jew is labelled a Jew.

At present the Jews of the Argentine are not doing anything to combat this avalanche of Nazi miserpresentation. Even before the vacation season, little was accomplished in this direction. A Committee Agianst German Attacks Upon the Jews was organized and conducted a campaign for funds to be used by the London committee for coloninzing German Jews in Palestine. A group opposed to a Zionist appeal organized its own committe, which, however, also made little headway.

RAISE 160,000 PESOS

The first committee raised about 160,000 peson of the half a million set as the goal before the committee went “on vacation.” As a result of the fall of the peso, of the value of het money has been lost, yet the money is still here.
