Hungarian Jewry Here Elect Dolores Ferencz to Be Queen Esther

New York’s Hungarian Jewry chose Miss Dolores Ferencz as Queen Esther when they re-en-acted the traditional coronation at the sixth annual Purim Ball of the Hungarian Zionists on Saturday evening at the Hotel Pennsylvania. Herman Quittman, director of the Jewish National Fund, acting the role of Mordecai, officiated at the ceremony. The queen’s ladies in waiting were Miss Olga Laslow, of Astoria, L. I., and Miss Irene Keller, of Passaic, N. J.

Among the guests of honor were Dr. Max Krause, Dr. Simon Bernstein, Dr. Joseph L. Watnick and Dr. John Gudick.

The newly elected officers of the organization are Dr. Simon Miller, president; Max Lobl, vice president; Herman Quittman, executive chairman; Louis Goodman, general secretary; Jean Mantel, recording secretary; Alex Spiegel, treasurer; Joseph Parness, social director; Samuel Ihlbaum, Morris Aron and Emil Goldstein, comptrollers.
