Geoffrey Kerr, who plays Dr. Stackpole in “Yellow Jack,” confessed not long ago that he would “rather be Dr. Stackpole than act him.” In view of his ambition and the desire to give an accurate characterization, he persuaded a doctor friend to let him watch an operation. He is now content to remain an actor, with occasional incursions into play-writing, for he never saw that operation. The smell of the ether made him so sick that he had to leave.
