The American Christian Committee for German Refugees, temporarily headed by the Rev. Dr. S. Parkes Cadman, is now in process of formation, according to a statement to the Jewish Daily Bulletin yesterday by Dr. Robert A. Ashworth, executive secretary.
The committee, which will be definitely formed within the next two weeks, will seek to “arouse among Protestants and Catholics a sense of responsibility toward the situation of German refugees,” Dr. Ashworth said.
A fund of $500,000 will be raised among the non-Jews, to be used in the relief of refugees from the Hitler regime.
