Women Will Raise Funds for Refugee Children’s Relief

Approximately 225 women, members of local organizations, attended an organization meeting of the Joint Distribution Committee here. Efforts by the women will be concentrated on raising funds for the transportation of at least ten children from Germany to Palestine.

Mrs. E. Goldstein was elected chairman of the group. Other officers named are Mrs. Samuel Segal Jr., recording secretary; Mrs. Abe Leo Cohen, corresponding secretary and Mrs. Samuel Wiener, treasurer.

Bernard Stone, New England director of the Palestine campaign, was the principal speaker, describing present conditions in Germany and urging the need for a Jewish haven in Palestine. Mrs. Maurice Sapers of Boston, president of the Women’s Scholarship Association, spoke on the situation of Jewish children in Germany.
