There are no “political prisoners” in Palestine and the term is not recognized under the law, Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, British Secretary of State for Colonies, replied when questioned today in the House of Commons about the treatment of Arab prisoners.

Sir Philip explained that the fifteen Arab leaders, sentenced to hard labor for provoking the bloody riots in Jaffa, are all out on bail pending an appeal of the sentences.
