Despite protests, a new industrial law was promulgated yesterday and will be enforced beginning August 15. The code is said to contain a number of loopholes which may easily be employed by government employes to discriminate against Jewish industrial workers and small tradesmen.

When the bill which has now been made law was being considered, a number of Jewish bodies appealed to the government against it, but none of the passages objected to have been deleted.
