Promotions Set for Faculty of Hebrew College

Promotions in the faculty of the Hebrew Union College here were announced at the last meeting of the board of governors.

Dr. Jacob Marcus, Associate Professor of Jewish History, was raised to a full professorship; Professor Abraham N. Franzblau was promoted to a full professorship of Jewish Religious Education from the associate position which he had formerly held; Dr. Sol B. Finesinger was made Associate Professor of Talmud, of which he was formerly assistant; Dr. Sheldon H. Blank was raised to an Associate Professor of Hebrew Language and Bible, and Dr. Nelson Glueck was made Associate Professor of Bible.

The title of Dr. Jacob Mann was changed from Professor of Jewish History and Literature to Professor of Talmud and Jewish History.

The following members of the faculty become Professors Emeritus of their respective departments: Dr. Moses Buttenwieser, Dr. Jacob Z. Lauterbach and Dr. Abraham Z. Idelsohn.

Volume X of the Hebrew Union College Annual will be published during the next academic year. The Alumni will introduce a publication soon.
