The patriotism of the German Jew for his fatherland was again brought home today by the rabbi, Dr. Leo Baeck, who, in an address at exercises marking the 900th anniversary celebration of Worms synagogue, said in part:
“Whatever new Germany’s sentiments may be, this synagogue makes us German Jews conscious of our association with this soil, and with future centuries.”
He said that he made this statement in the name of the Reichs Vertretung, all German Jewish representative body.
