Judge Samuel Stern, traveler, amateur photographer, writer and former president of the Washington State Bar Association, was greeted by Pope Pius I, according to word received by his friends here. Judge Stern was the only Jew in a world tour party, led by Melita L. O’Hara of Seattle, which was granted an audience with the Pope in Rome.
