Among the contributions of Junior Hadassah to the upbuilding of Palestine are Children’s Village at Pardessa, the agricultural colony for graduates, the projected farm school for German refuges children, the Nurses’ Training School and the redemption of uninhabited swamp land, Mrs. Freida Ullian, first honorary president of Junior Hadsssah, declared yesterday in addresses over WOR and WEVD.

The broadcast was part of the nation-wide celebration of the thirteenth anniversary of the organization.

Asserting that “whatever enhances the self-respect and dignity of the Jew in America enhances his dignity and self-respect as an American citizen,” Mrs. Ullian pointed out that more than 10,000 members of the 189 units of Junior Hadassah in the United States are “steeping themselves in Jewish history, literature, customs and language and are becoming conscious of their racial antecedents and background.”
