A manifesto proclaiming faith in the innocence of Abraham Stavsky, convicted for the murder of Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, and calling on Jews throughout the world to rally to his support, was issued here today by Chief Rabbis A. I. HaCohen Kook and Jacob Meir. The manifesto, issued in behalf of the Palestine rabbinate, bears the signatures of many prominent rabbis here.

The manifesto follows:

“We, the undersigned, deem it our duty to arouse the hearts of all Israel and all righteous humanity in view of the great danger that innocent blood is to be shed in Jerusalem if we fail to arise unanimously in the name of the holy spirit, justice and honor to defend this innocent life.

“We are all witness before God and man that Abraham Stavsky is totally innocent of Arlosoroff’s murder.

“The verdict was based on extremely weak indications and it was only the result of outside influences that a section of the court was inclined to accept them. The absolute truth which is known to us in all its aspects is in this case
