Two brothers—one a Brooklyn rabbi, the other an employe of Carl Byoir & Associates, a publicity concern engaged in disseminating Nazi propaganda in this country, according to recent revelations brought to light by a Congressional investigation — snarled recriminations at each other yesterday.
“Many a preacher’s son has gone wrong and a rabbi’s brother may turn out bad,” said Rabbi Louis D. Gross, editor of the Jewish Examiner. “This is one instance where the rabbi is not his brother’s keeper.”
This statement was issued before a formal conference of representatives of the Greater New York press.
“He has his ideas and I have mine,” David Gross replied, when asked later to comment. “I don’t blame him for trying to clear his own skirts, but he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
