Twenty members of the Jewish boycott committee directing the campaign among Jews in this country against the purchase of goods from Nazi Germany were summoned today to appear before the investigating judge who commonly handles only the more important cases.

The committee men were accused of belonging to an illegal organization and of extortion on the grounds that they took guarantees from certain merchants as a pledge that the latter would discontinue importing goods from Germany.

Since conviction would make the men liable to imprisonment, they had to sign undertakings they would not leave Latvia.
