Henri Torres, noted French advocate and one of Europe’s most brilliant criminal lawyers, today joined the ranks of those maintaining the innocence of Abraham Stavsky, young Polish Jew convicted in Palestine of the murder of Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, noted Zionist labor leader.

Deputy Torres, who won the acquittal of Sholom Schwartzbard for avenging the pogroms in the Ukraine perpetrated by Petlura, demanded revision of the verdict in the Stavsky case.

“I have full confidence in those who proclaimed the innocence of Stavsky,” Deputy Torres declared. “A new trial for him must have the best possible guarantees of justice.”
