The London Zionist Executive informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that it has been in touch with two Quakers, Oliver and Tootah, here from the Near East to attend the Quaker conference, and is not inclined to attach importance to their efforts directed against the Jews of Palestine. Zionist officials declared that the story had been “exaggerated by interested persons desiring to create a state of alarm in Palestine.”
The Colonial Office confirmed the visit of the Quaker committee to the Colonial Secretary, but denied officially that Sir Philip had used the language attributed to him.
