Reports that four Jews, three men and a woman, had been slain in Silesia “while attempting to escape” could not be confirmed here or in Berlin tonight.
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned that while four deaths had been reported, there was nothing to establish that the victims had been Jews.
Dispatches to London newspapers this morning refer to the victims only as Germans. None of them describe any of the victims as being Jewish.
