Mendel Gottesman, president of the Credit Utility Banking Corporation of New York and treasurer of the Yeshiva College, who has just returned from Palestine, yesterday said he was deeply impressed with the active industrial agricultural and spiritual development of the country and the apparent contentment among the people.

Mr. Gottesman, who is seventy-five years old, revealed while he was in Jerusalem he became ill and was taken to the Hadassah-Rothschild Hospital for treatment. He praised the work of the hospital and its personnel, declaring that the service and attention given despite crowded conditions caused by inadequate facilities was “marvellous.” He pointed out he was particularly pleased to find that strict observance of kashruth prevailed at the institution.

Mr. Gottesman was accompanied on the trip by his son, Benjamin.
