Rabbi Leon Spitz, Connecticut chairman of the United Jewish Appeal drive, reported today that more than $55,000 has been collected.

The original State quota has been oversubscribed, Rabbi Spitz reported, and the amount raised is more than four times the sum raised last year. Fourteen cities contributed to the total.
