An intensive membership campaign to increase the enrolment of the Federation of Kosher Butchers to 10,000 will get under way this Friday, it was announced yesterday by David S. Andron, counsel to the Federation.

At a conference yesterday between representatives of the Federation and the Live Poultry Code Authority, it was decided to coordinate the kosher butchers and the live poultry codes to eliminate abuses and unfair competition in violation of kosher ordinances.

The Federation, Andron said, has temporarily eliminated initiation fees and other barriers to make it easier for the 10.000 kosher butchers of the United States to join. The membership at present totals 8,000, according to Andron.

The drive is being started, Andron stated, to afford all the kosher butchers of the United States the opportunity to benefit from NRA code. Mass meetings will be held throughout the country.
