Police have broadcast a general alarm for Isidore Tankel, fourteen, of 405 East Ninety-fourth street. Brooklyn, who disappeared mysteriously the day before yesterday.
He was last seen shortly afternoon at West Twenty-second street and Seventh avenue, Manhattan where he was sent on an errand from his brother’s place of business, Prince and Lafayette streets.
The boy was described as stocky, five foot seven inches tall, with blue eyes, brown curly hair and a scar on his left wrist. He weighs about 145 pounds, and appears to be about sixteen years old. At the time of his disappearance he wore a white shirt, navy blue trousers, white shoes and thick-lensed metalrimmed eyeglasses without which he can see little. He wore no hat or necktie.
Isidore is a student of the Winthrop Junior High School, Brooklyn. He is of the studious type, his brother said, not inclined to be adventurous and completely satisfied with his home life. The brother is certain that the absence is not voluntary.
His brother said that Isidore, being intelligent and of good habits, would surely have communicated with his family if he were able.
