Mme. Violette de Struzzi, a leading German soprano until she became known as “the wife of a Jew,” arrived in New York Friday on the Hamburg-American liner New York with her husband, Dr. Curt Engelmann, formerly chief surgeon at the Urban Hospital, Berlin, and her daughter, Diana de Struzzi, 15.

After the rise of anti-Semitic feeling in Germany, Mme. de Struzzi no longer commanded a following at the Berlin State Opera and her husband was forced to resign his hospital post, though he continued private practice.
