The value of Orthodox Judaism to the general interests of the country was praised by Minister of Education and Public Worship Dr. Valentin Homan when he received M. Samuel Kahan-Frankl, the new president of the Orthodox Jewish Community of Hungary, in succession to M. Adolf Frankl, his father-in-law, who has resigned because of his advanced age. Adolf Frankl, who still retains his position as one of the two representatives of the Jewish Faith (the orthodox section) in the Upper House of Parliament, accompanied the new president.

Homan assured the new president that his work would have the minister’s fullest assistance and good will. He also expressed his hope that the president would continue in the paths of his predecessors and that the Jews would be directed in the spirit of orthodox Judaism.

It was then that the minister stressed the great value of orthodox Jewry with its profound spirit of religion, from the point of view of the general interests of the country as a whole.
