The star of Hephzibah Menuhin, fourteen-year-old sister of Yehudi Menuhin, renowned boy violinist, is in the ascent. She will be presented to the public in a concert here this fall.
While Yehudi has been astounding critics and music audiences the world over, Sister Hephzibah has been practicing the piano. For years she has accompanied her brother at home. The combined urgings of George Enesco, the children’s friend and teacher; Marcel Ciampi, French pianist and Hephzibah’s teacher in Paris, and her brother have finally prevailed upon her parents to grant permission for her public appearance.
Last year the brother and sister had an inkling of the success that their appearance together might bring when they received the Grand Prix Candide for recording a sonata of Mozart. This summer they recorded the Grand Sonata of Schumann.
