“The Synagogue can furnish youth with the opportunity to cultivate the Jewish religious outlook as a basis for a fuller and richer life,” declared Rabbi Phillip W. Jaffa, Regional Rabbi of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, in an interview on the subject “What the Synagogue Can Do for Youth.”

“If synagogue activities seem to be out of harmony with the modern life of the individual,” the Rabbi said, “it may be a valid accusation against the individuals who make up that institution. Our youth must not fail to exploit the potentialities of the Synagogue as an instrument of social and spiritual betterment.”
