Municipal Councilor Zubarsky, a Laborite member, wants a concerted effort made to maintain and preserve the Hebrew character of Tel Aviv.

Speaking before a meeting of the Council, Zubarsky said the printing of posters, shingles, throwaways and invitations in any language other than Hebrew—and English and Arabic, which are also official tongues—was most deplorable. He called for the taking of steps “to prevent the continuation of this practice.”
