Minister of the Interior Ion Inculet, who today addressed a conference of Rumanian police chiefs, declared that the anti-Semitic Iron Guard organization headed by Zeleya Codreanu is “just as dangerous to Rumania as Hitlerism or Bolshevism.”

Despite the recent order issued by the press censor forbidding newspapers to publish articles leading to incitement of race hatred, publications adhering to the anti-Semitic policy of Professor Alexander Cuza, notorious Rumanian Jew baiter, continue their agitation against the Jews, printing lists of Jewish communal and Zionist organizations and branding them as “traitors” and alleging that the Keren Kayemeth, the Jewish Foundation Fund, is “collecting money for Communism.”

THREATS RECALLED

Recently Rumanian newspapers carried stories that all Jewish employees of the Rumanian government services, who were naturalized after 1919, and all those who were not Rumanian citizens before the World War would be dismissed from their posts.

Professor Cuza, accompanied by his son, is at present said to be visiting Berlin, where he is to confer with the Nazi leaders, including Chancellor Adolf Hitler on his anti-Jewish campaign in Rumania.

Iron Guard anti-Semitic agitation in Rumania, which received a setback when the Iron Guardist students were arrested as the murderers of the late Premier, Ion G. Duca, and the organization itself suppressed, appears to be increasing again. Anti-Semitic propaganda is being spread boldly and the government orders forbidding racial incitement is completely ignored by the Rumanian anti-Semites.
