Authorities at the American Consulate here are preparing an official protest to the German Government because of a beating administered to Albert Lepasky, Chicago University professor, who was attacked Monday by Nazis for not saluting the German flag. Leparsky is assistant to Charles E. Merriam, recently appointed by the Department of Commerce as special investigator in Europe.

Accompanied by Dr. Howard Jones, 464 Riverside Drive, New York City, Lepasky was observing a Nazi parade at Neukoeln after a speech by Minister of Propaganda Goebbels when the attack took place.
