Representative Herman P. Kopplemann, who during his first term in Congress was wholly or partly responsible for passage of three measures affecting vast sections of the country and many individuals, last night launched his campaign for re-election at a testimonial dinner in which he announced his candidacy for the Democratic renomination. That he will receive the nomination of his party is practically assured.
The 150 county party leaders and workers at the dinner heard individuals high in the party council, including Governor Wilbur L. Cross, praise the Jewish Congressman for the part he played in making possible federal loans to small industries; for his vigorous espousel of the Kerr tobacco bill which will work for the benefit of the Agricultural Adjustments Administration’s crop control program for that commodity.
