The Arab newspaper Al Jamai Al Islamia was suppressed today in conformity with last week’s warning by the Palestine government against “mischievous” statements, the specific offense being the publication of an appeal by Jamal Al Husseini, Arab extremist leader, to the Arab youth to continue guarding the coast against illegal Jewish immigrants.
Such activities were forbidden by High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope last week, following a clash near Nathania between Arabs and Jews. At that time newspapers were threatened with drastic treatment if they failed to discontinue printing inflammatory matter, and, while none was named, it was believed Hebrew organs were meant.
