Official Laxity is Charged in Algerian Riots

The Algerian Jewish Youth Association today accused the Algerian government of not having given the police orders to stop the recent pogrom against the Jews in Constantine. The association demanded that the French government immediately institute a sweeping investigation of the massacre and punish all officials guilty of laxity, particularly local and high governmental officials who took no steps to halt the bloodshed.
