New attacks upon Jews were reported today from Siauliai, where peasants arriving from neighboring villages for bazaar day plundered Jewish stores and severely assaulted their owners. Many peasants were arrested. Jews feared to leave their homes this evening.

At Ponewesz ten Jews were injured by Lithuanians and at Raseinia the offices of the Zionist Youth Organization were demolished.

In Lithuanian circles it was said the attacks are the outcome of Nazi provocations, the purpose of which is to compromise the Lithuanian government.
