Christian clergymen here condemned the Nazi onslaught upon Christianity.

Dr. G. H. Bechtold, superintendent of the Lutheran Bureau, declared the Lutheran Church in Germany will fight Nazi “paganism” with all its power. In that fight the entire Lutheran Church in this country will give its full support, he said.

Dr. John A. MacCallum, pastor of the Walnut Street Presbyterian Church, said: “The Nazi ‘religion’ is a denial of religion. Hitler’s campaign against the church is conclusive proof that Nazism is a menace to civilization.”
