The Passaic Herald-News, commenting editorially on the Berlin story concerning the support of Hitler in the recent plebiscite by a Jewish group, advocates the formation of a committee to investigate the Jewish situation in Germany today.
“Here is a question of fact that should be settled,” the editorial says in part.
“We suggest that a committee of eminent Jewish citizens, in whom everybody can repose the utmost confidence, be sent at once to Germany to learn the exact truth and report back to us. It would be as well if there were included several Americans who are not Jews, not because we would distrust the report of an all-Jewish committee, but because the presence of non-Jews on the committee would tend to intensify American confidence in the committee’s report.”
