Let congressman and president

Abandon tactics truculent

And emulate the brotherly,

When hit, I’ll turn the otherly

Cheek—of across the sea.

Because so loud the country calls,

Secure the loudest behind walls;

Take office ere encountering the glad electorate.

Then each Republican in haste

Acquires a Democratic taste.

For getting out a record vote, there’s nothing like a camp!

Because you’ll be the singular and only candidate.

And should there be a backward mite

Who hasnt’ learned to plebiscite,

In Sing Sing’s bracing woodland air, he’ll his approval stamp.

He’ll ja with all the camp-fire boys

When concentration he enjoys.
