More than $500,000 will be needed during the year 1934-35 to meet the needs of the academic, professional and student emigrants from Germany, Mrs. Roger W. Straus, chairman of the Women’s Division of the United Jewish Appeal, reported last night at a meeting of representatives of 400 women’s organizations launching the ticket sale for the theatrical production, “Night of Stars,” to be presented at the Yankee Stadium September 20.

The production is expected to wind up the Appeal’s campaign for $1,200,000.

Mrs. David E. Goldfarb, president of the Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of New York, presided. Other speakers were: Mrs. Albert J. May, president of the State Federation of Temple Sisterhoods; Mrs. A. J. Kobler, and representatives of the Women’s League of the United Synagogues of American and of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations.
