Louis Blumberg, president of the Jewish Postal Workers Welfare League of New York City, Friday addressed a plea to the Jewish public to mail New Year’s greetings early so that a maximum number of Jewish postal workers may be released from duty for the High Holy Days.
The League, Mr. Blumberg said, will be able to secure permission from the Post Office Department for a large number of Jewish workers to be excused during the holidays if the post office is not swamped by belatedly – mailed greetings.
