New Year’s greetings to the Jews of America from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Governor Herbert H. Lehman of New York, Governor Henry Horner of Illinois and Mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia of New York City were broadcast last evening over the facilities of the National Broadcasting Company. The occasion was a special Rosh Hashonah program sponsored by the Religious Reconstruction Committee of the Union of Orthodox Congregations of America. The program originated from station WJZ at 10:30 p. m.

The greetings of the President and the two Governors were read by William Wise, president of the Union. Mayor LaGuardia’s message was conveyed by Joseph P. McGoldrick, Comptroller of New York City.
