A plot to kidnap the rebbe of Ger in the hope of obtaining ransom money was revealed here in the course of a trial involving several prominent wrestlers.
Theodor Stecker, a wrestling instructor, was charged with having organized an attack upon a Jewish wrestling umpire named I. Tressler-Bransky. During testimony a third athlete named Miazio admitted that he had said it would be a “good idea’ ‘to kidnap the holy man of Ger. He declared, however, that he was only joking.
Although a number of ### nesses were called, Stecker ### freed on the ground of ins###cient evidence.
