Funeral services will be held in Seranton, Pa., today for Myer Davidow, sixty-two, well known for his philanthropies in that city. Mr. Davidow died here at Post-Graduate Hospital Monday morning of endocarditis. He had been ill several months.

A generous contributor to the charitable organizations of his home town, Mr. Davidow was particularly interested in the Y. M. H. A. and the Federation of Jewish Charities. A community playground, largely the result of his contributions, was named after him. He also built a home for Scranton Jewish charities.

Among his other philanthropic interests were the Red Cross, the Community Chest of Scranton and the University of Pennsylvania.

Born in Lithuania, Mr. Davidow came to the United States at the age of fifteen. From the shoe business he went into real estate and, within a comparatively short time, made the fortune which he dreamed of as an immigrant boy. Thereafter, in gratitude to the community where he prospered, he devoted his benefactions principally to Scranton.

Yesterday his body lay in state at the Herman Myer funeral parlor, 150 West Seventy-ninth street. The Scranton services today will be conducted at the Madison Avenue Temple, with burial following in Ansche Chesed Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Davidow. who was unmarried, are a sister, Mrs. Sam Bloch, also of Scranton; a brother, and ten nephews and nieces.
