First payment toward the city’s quota for the Jewish National Fund was turned over to Rabbi Israel Goldstein, national head of the fund, at exercises marking the end of the local drive last night at the Hotel Majestic.

L. Arthur Greenstein, chairman of the local J.N.F. council, presented a check for $5,000 to Rabbi Goldstein. Approximately $10,000 was raised in the drive.

Other speakers at the exercises were Rabbi Simon Greenberg, chairman of the local campaign; William Portner and Judge William M. Lewis. The names of the late Benjamin L. Rubinsohn and Nathaniel I. S. Goldman were inscribed in the J.N.F. Golden Book.
