The nineteenth annual convention of the New York State Federation of Y. M. H. As., Y. W. H. As. and Jewish Community Centers closed here last night after a week-end of deliberations on “New Trends in Physical and Health Education,” and “Factors and Forces That Contribute Toward a United American Israel,” held at the local center with a banquet at which Judge Irving Lehman of the Court of Appeals of New York State, national president of the Jewish Welfare Board, was the guest speaker.
Arthur D. Mann of Schenectady, president of the State Federation, presided. Among the speakers who took part in discussions included Shepherd Z. Baum of Albany, Rabbi Julian L. Greifer of Binghamton, Rabbi Joshua S. Kohn of Utica, George M. Hyman of Syracuse, Rabbi Myron W. Jacobs of Gloversville and Dr. Philip R. Goldstein, field secretary of the New York State Federation for Jewish Welfare Board.
The physical directors of their respective communities were Sam Phillips of Rochester, Al Solomon of Albany, Max Schneider of Syracuse, Henry H. Unterfort of Glovesville, Emil Cohen of Buffalo, Joseph Levine of Binghamton and Reuben Friedman of Troy.
