The Hamburg American Line and the North German Lloyd carried 11,000 fewer passengers in the first eight months of this year as compared with the similar period in 1933. Both lines, according to their own statements, are losing money on their European-American services.
The actual figures for the eight-month period are as follows: 1933 —82,409 passengers; 1934—71,595 passengers.
