With the backing of Greek Orthodox public opinion, Madame Levy, a wealthy Jewess of Athens, has instituted suit against the Roman Catholic Convent of Tinos for the return of her sixteen-year-old daughter Anna.

Anna, Madame Levy charges, has been baptized by the nuns of that Aegean Sea island and has been detained by them against her wish.

M. Macropolous, Minister of the Interior, has interceded with the Roman Catholic Bishop in Athens, Mgr. Phillipucci, calling upon him to order the nuns to return the girl to her parents. This the Bishop has refused to do.

Public opinion is behind Madame Levy since it resents Roman Catholic proselytizing in a Greek Catholic country.
