A plan to remove tax exemption from any educational institution which discriminates against Jews was advanced by Samuel Leibowitz yesterday afternoon at a meeting of the Harlem Merchants’ Association.

Charging there is a ten per cent quota for Jews in effect at Columbia University, Leibowitz said he “hadn’t heard any Jewish or Christian leaders rebel against this contemptible race prejudice.”

Amon gother speakers at the meeting was Louis Lande, chief examiner in the Aldermanic President’s office, who urged cooperation between Jews and Negroes.
