Leaders of American Jewry on Friday expressed sorrow at the loss humanity has suffered in the death of Baron Edmond de Rothschild and praised him for his monumental work in helping toward the upbuilding of Palestine. Their statements follow:

Through the death of Baron Edmond James de Rothschild the world, France and Jewry suffer an irreparable loss. His many years of experience, his courage in doing the things he thought right, weighing fully the risks he was taking, have contributed much to the development of Palestine.
