Israel Matz, speaking over WNEW yesterday afternoon in the radio forum of the School of the Jewish Woman, declared that Jewish education stands first and foremost for the principles and ideals “of our 3,000-year-old literature, beginning with the Bible, which commands, ‘Thou shalt not kill’.”

He said the government alone cannot stop war.

“As long as the peace-loving people of America do not express themselves, and as long as it is possible for munitions makers to poison the minds of our people by glorification of war, just so long will the American government, even with the best of intentions, be powerless to stop war.”
