More than 1,000 persons were present Sunday night at the “Hundred Dollar Dinner” of the radio, music and refrigeration division of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic societies at the Waldorf-Astoria. More than $53,170 was raised at the dinner, Henry Benjamin, chairman of the division, announced.
There were no speeches and guests were entertained by a program in which leading radio, screen and stage stars participated.
The Federation is seeking to raise $2,071,000 for the support of ninety-one affiliated institutions.
